Baby sleep training with a toddler

We had reasonable success in getting our son to sleep through the night by gradually swapping feeds for cuddling in the night, and bit by bit getting him to sleep in his own cot. However, my daughter is now nine months old, and waking more and more during the night. If I try to avoid feeding her, she'll only go back to sleep on me, and strongly resists her cot. I think we're being very cautious, as we really don't want to wake up her brother if she cries in the night. Does anyone have any tips on getting babies to sleep at night without waking their siblings?

I had the same worries as you. When dd was about 9 months ds was 2.4.

We never did bite the bullet, then when they went in together and now dd is 2.2 and still wakes almost every night, is getting harder to get to sleep in the first place. (Still has a bottle and mostly cuddled to sleep- go ahead- shoot me Smile)

If I could go back to where you are now, I'd do it. Ds sleeps through most things. He will even go to sleep with her screaming a few feet away.

Good luck.

We did controlled crying with ds at about 10 months. If/when we sort dd it'll be rapid return. But hope she'll sort hersefl out.

I'm a wuss!
