How much sleep for a three year old?

DD goes to sleep at 7.30 and wakes at 6. She doesn't nap during the day, but will drop off in the car if we're driving any length of time.

Is this enough sleep? She's really tired by the end of the day, and I could really do without the 6am wake ups.

Sounds just like my ds3. I struggle to get him to go to sleep any early and he wakes too early. My other two were exactly the same and I never found an answer. Hoping someone has!

Looking on the NHS site and a couple of other places, it seems that they're supposed to have 11 hours at night plus one or more during the day.

I'd love to eradicate the 6am wake ups. She'd go to sleep at 7, but would still wake early.

Same here. Putting to bed earlier and later hasn't helped. Do you have a gro clock or similar? It hasn't helped us with sleeping in longer, but does (sometimes) encourage him to stay in his room and 'read' quietly for a bit.

Neither of mine have ever got the recommended amount of sleep.

Yes, she has a gro clock, but our house is so small that we hear her when she wakes up, so even though she stays in her room until get up time, we're all awake.

Yes - us too. DS' room is above ours so he stamps on our heads. But DD is currently up at 5.30 anyway so Im generally fucked..

My dd dropped her nap at a little over two years old.

Up until a couple of months ago she was having 11.5-12 hours sleep a night. But recently bedtimes have been a bit rubbish and she's going to sleep an hour later. But still waking at the same time. So only getting 10.5-11 hours. And I'm sure it's not enough.

She's 3.5. I think she really does need her 11.5-12 hours.
