Why why WHY? And what do I do next

So I have been doing gradual retreat sleep training with DD. I retreated extremely gradually as hate to hear her upset, but after weeks and weeks I was putting her down and going out the door. I was still hanging around outside her room though. Last night and tonight as soon as I have gone to exit the room she has started roaring and crying hysterically. Last night was also back to 2hr wake ups when we had been getting only 2 a night following the retreat success which was totally amazing. Why has it all gone wrong? What do I do next? Do I start over? Feeling a bit depressed about it all and just shouted at DH in a slightly deranged manner.....

How old is she? Any chance she is ill, teething or having a major development leap? these tend to cock up sleep even after training... but it passes

She is 9 months. She could.be teething or it maybe a developmental change. She has been a bit cranky today. What do you do if it messes up the training? Do you start again???

9 months is a classic sleep regression time I believe. Yes I think start again but it should progress much quicker as they have already learned it iyswim.
