waking up wet

ds is 2. he has finally started sleeping through (yay). The problem is he is waking up very early in the morning absolutely soaking, sheets as well as himself. I have tried a bigger nappy with pants over to keep it closer to the skin. I have also reduced his nighttime milk by half. it would be very difficult to drop it completely as he really likes having it. What to do?

Have you tried lifting him when you go to bed and taking him for a wee. Lots of people do that I believe.

he isn't potty trained yet, showing no signs of being ready.

its hard to get him to go to sleep so waking and nappy changing will be a last resort. a friend suggested cloth nappies as being more absorbant???

Could you give more fluids earlier in the day and say only a little with tea, then milk?

Dumb suggestion time - what size nappy is he in? I'm assuming the largest?

Can you double nappy him?

nearlyreadytopop · 10/09/2013 20:03

he's in pampers baby dry size 6. double nappies might be worth a try. thanks

Same problem here with DS 15 months. We're double nappying him size 5 with a 6 on top. Most mornings there is still leakage but not as bad. dont know why this has started all of a sudden. If you find a solution please let me know the constant sheet changing is grinding me down :)

Have you tried gently changing his nappy, without waking him, before you go to bed?

I used to have the same with my son, like SwivelHips, double nappy was the only thing that worked and even then there were still some leaks but not nearly as bad.
I found that Pampers Baby Dry were the more absorbent (this was about 2 years ago though so there may be a better one), one on normally and the second as high as possible at the front.
