He started 2 weeks ago (Scotland). Had been in nursery 4 full days a week prior to that so i am very surprised that he has been so tired the last 2 weeks and that is just been half days to settle in!

So next week he starts full days.

His sleep has been into bed at 8. Takes around 40 minutes to fall asleep (drives me crackers) and he will wake around 7 am. Can be as early as 6.15 or as late as 7.30 but usually 7 am.

Obviously with school things are going to be very different. The last 2 weeks he has been exhausted by 8 so we feel we need to bring this forward but DH isn't generally home until 7-7.30. Surely though (and this may sound daft) if we bring bed forward to say 7.30, he will therefore wake at 6.30 so still be just as knackered at the end of the day? Do we just ride it out while he gets used to school hours?

sometimes an earlier bedtime can help them recharge and still wake at their usual time. DS (6) has an hour earlier bedtime during the week (8pm) but still wakes at the same time as when he has a later bedtime at the weekend (9pm) - is up around 7am regardless of bedtime.
