My ten month old has always been good at falling asleep at bedtime. at around six months I made a point about leaving him drowsy but awake, and he had no problem falling asleep.
Now, what with separation anxiety, he seems to want just me when he is falling asleep. His Dad, cousin or aunt can give him his bottle, but when it comes to putting down he'd scream blue murder until I come into a room and then he falls asleep almost immediately. I just have to be close to him.
He also looks for me during the night, and flops back to sleep as soon as he can see me next to him.
I think part of the problem is that he sleeps in a cot, next our bed, with one side down. So it's almost like he us in bed with us.
(Although due to slight difference in matress heights, that doesn't happen very often at all, only as a special treat every now abd then, for an hour, before waking). I have no option of moving thr cot elsewhere due to a lack of space.
I'm hoping its just phase, but what if this continues...how can I train him to be happy to fall asleep/resettle by himself?
