My 12 mth old ds has in the last two weeks, decided that lying in his cot with me holding his hands is an unacceptable way to fall asleep and screams blue murder when he goes near his cot.
It's taking hours to get him to doze off with my feeding/rocking/listening to him cry and all of us ending up in tears.
I've tried just letting him potter around his cot with his dummy and teddies and he starts off ok but when he gets to the sleepy stage he starts screaming hysterically and we have to abandon it.
I'm in despair and need ideas. How does your 12 mth ish old child fall asleep in their cot?
