1 year old and standing in cot

Am at my wits end. Had 1 year old DD in a brilliant routine, down for first nap at 9am (for about an hour) and second at around 1-2pm for a couple of hours. However, since she learnt to stand in her cot a few weeks ago she will not sleep. She hasn't learnt to get down so will stand up and babble, then cry, then absolutely scream the place down. If I lie her down every time she gets up, she goes into meltdown. If I leave her she goes into meltdown. I was told sleeping bags would stop her from standing up, not my DD! The only hope I have of getting her to sleep is to breastfeed her to sleep, even then that can take up to 45 minutes and only works about half the time. Some days I have spent 2 hours trying to get her to sleep, by which point I just give up. She isn't ready to go to 1 nap yet as she is absolutely exhausted looking when she has skipped either nap.
I feel awful just leaving her in there and letting her scream but nothing else has worked. I really don't want to continue BF'ing her to sleep as I was hoping to stop soon.

She will eventually sit down then lie down but unfortunately you just have to leave her.
My dd does the same but nowadays it only takes a few minutes or seconds even for her to sit down and go to sleep
I had her in a travel cot for a bit while she got the hang of it in case she slipped and banged her head on the wood of the cot.
So I'm afraid the only answer I can think of is just to leave her to it. Oh and help her practise getting up and down from standing to sitting during the day.

I think that is my worry, that she will hit and bang her head (which has happened a couple of times, thankfully not hurt though). Am trying ring a rosie but she thinks this is a hilarious game. Did get her to sleep today but took 1 hour and 10 minutes. At least she slept for 1.5 hours.

Any joy with the standing? I hope naps are getting better for you Smile
