Should I worry?

Hi all-
My truly beautiful 12 wk DS has no routine AT ALL and he sleeps very poorly at night. He was ebf but DH started giving him a bottle at 10 pm ish last week so I could get some sleep.

Last night he had his bottle at 10.30, woke and was fed at 1.30, 3.30 and 5.30. After last feed he wouldn't resettle in cot so slept on me till 6.30. This is pretty typical- and knackering!

We pretty much go with the flow in the daytime- I feed him when he grizzles and try to get him to nap (generally on me or in sling) about 1hr 45 from when he last woke. I try to do bath / massage/ bed but its a moveable feast depending on his last nap. He's usually asleep in his cot by 8 ish.

He's a happy little chap and I'm not struggling to much with lack of sleep but everyone in my nct group, and post-natal group here seems so have babies that sleep through!

I'm not sure whether to try to establish a routine, or just accept that my baby is one of the ones that doesn't sleep and is the most handsome baby that ever graced the earth

Would appreciate any thoughts or advice,
Thanks x

I'm not the best person to advise as my 9 month old is still not a good sleeper. However it sounds like you are doing everything right and if your DS is happy then it will probably just be a case of time. Hope it gets better for you sooner rather than later, sleep deprivation is the worst!

I'd take what your NCT classmates say with a pinch of salt. I thought all my NCT class had miraculous angel babies that slept through from 6 weeks but recently found out that some of them classed sleeping through as 5 consecutive hours? some even wore earplugs Wink

That question mark was not supposed to be there.

I would say its pretty normal so far
