We have been incredibly fortunate with our daughter as she has always slept fantastically well. From 2 weeks old she slept through the night in her own room and she has always been admired for her sleeping pattern by grandparents etc.
We had some slight issues a month or so ago but when my husband went away for two weeks with work I cracked it and had her sleeping in until after 7.30am every morning. But when he came back we have had real issues.
We do the mornings between us as we both work (my daughter comes with me three days a week as it is my own business and I run a dressage stud at my parents).
This morning, she woke at 4am and my husband gave her a bottle but she was back up at 5.15am. At this point my husband was ready to take her downstairs and play with her (in my eyes exactly what she wanted) so I stepped in and said she was not to leave her bedroom. He tried to comfort her, but she was just screaming out of temper.
I didn't want to intervene as we try to be as equal as possible, but on this occasion I felt I had to. I went in, gave her a dummy, lay her down, told her it was bedtime and closed the door. I set my timer on my phone for 10 minutes and she cried and screamed the entire time. It was so hard and my husband kept saying he was going to get her but I asked him to just leave her and go with me on this one. After 10 minutes I went back in, didn't speak, but gave her back her dummy and tucked her in. She cried for a minute and then it all went quiet and is still this way 20 minutes on.
Has anyone else had these temper issues in the morning and early wake ups that just suddenly start?
