DS is getting worse! 4.45 the last 2 morning. It is usually 5 at least. His room is totally blacked out, he has no interest on the gro clock and refuses to go back to sleep. I can't leave him as he will wake everyone up. Just really fed up with it.

Nelly are you me?!

We have the same problem (4.10 this morning) and its getting silly now. He is so tired by the afternoon and I have no idea how he stays awake at school. We have blackout blinds and curtains, he has an alarm clock, quiet things to do in his room. If he gets up it is as boring and unrewarding as possible.

We're running out of ideas so watching with interest

Feeling your pain this morning. Does your DC still nap during the day? I found cutting back on this helped mine sleep longer in the morning. Obviously doesn't always work. I'm not up this early by choice! If its any consolation, it was just a phase with mine and they grew out of it.

Mine doesn't as he's 5 and at school. Occasionally he will fall asleep on a weekend in the car on the way somewhere. He's been like this since he was a baby and its all getting a bit much now. Changing bedtimes (earlier or later) has made not a jot of difference.
How long does the phase last Avondale?
