DD is about to turn 7. DS is 3.5. DD will be in top bunk. Storage will be useful, but not essential. We need mattresses.

Do you recommend buying from ebay/amazon, those ones that come with mattresses already? are they any good? or are they cheap quality/are the mattresses shite? What others do you recommend?

We got a thuka one - this exact one from this company - it is so solid, and wonderful. It was just under £600 inc mattresses. We just moved house and it was v easy to disassemble and reassemble. We considered that because they can be separated into single beds or into high sleepers it was a good investment and should be the only beds we need to buy for them.

We have this one too, kind of! We bought it as bunks 9 years ago. It's now been split into high sleepers in two different rooms, added desks underneath and drawers. Still look fab. Eldest boy is 13 so wants his bedroom to look older- this summer I'm going to take it all down and he'll have a single bed. Highly recommended.
