Unsettled Co-sleeper!

Hi there,
Being new to the board I thought I would post a message to see if anybody else has experienced the same thing.

My 6 month old son has always been an unsettled sleeper, hence the co-sleeping. I exclusively bf until i weaned him onto solids at 4months. I have been used to the many night feeds, but having him next to me meant that we easily got back to sleep. I have tried many times to get him to drink formula but the most he will have is 3oz if im lucky. He also now refuses the breast during the day, therefore his daily milk intake is quite low, so i add formula to his food, and give extra yoghurts.
The main problem is that my HV has suggested that i now cut out the night feeds. I can get him to fall asleep without a feed, but he is now waking almost every hour unsettled, i try feeding his as a last resort, but he only feeds for a minute or so and then crys again. I sit rocking him, change his bum, etc.. then suddenly he seems to drift back to sleep alone, for another hour.
Im pretty sure he isnt hungry, cold/hot, as when he is tired he just screams unless he is asleep.

I am not wanted to totally wean from breastfeeding, but with him hardly drinking any formula i feel that its the only way to get milk into him.

Also thought he could be cutting his first tooth, but other than the dribbling and gnawing on everything, i cant see any obvious signs (swollen gums).

He also has a habit of scratching his head when tired, which causes excema (which i treat each day) therfore i tend to try holding his arms down so he can sleep, as he get even more upset as he rubs his head.

any advice welcomed!

both really, I am now only really breastfeeding at night and as he is 6 months my HV advises that i should try to stop the night feeds, but as he is in my bed and so used to comfort feeding i am finding it very hard.

I am now pretty sure he has both bottom teeth about to come through, as the gum is quite swollen and feels slightly rigid.
So i guess that could explain the sudden unsettled nights. Also I am trying to watch what he eats and see if there is a connection, as he seems to pass quite a lot of wind late on. (I guess its all the Veggies).
