7 month old suddenly waking every two hours

DS2 has always been a pretty good sleeper (difficult to get down at bedtime but regularly slept through from 8 weeks), got slightly worse around 4 months, got slightly better again, but the last couple of nights have been atrocious: WIDE awake and thrashing around every couple of hours, not particularly upset but then getting upset if he doesn't get picked up/cuddled/fed.

I suspect it's a combination of teething (though I've been dosing him up on baby Nurofen), tummy still getting used to solids, and trying to crawl, but it's HIDEOUS. Not sure what I'm looking for here except sympathy and maybe a bit of "this too will pass"....

Hmm, just felt the edge of a tooth. I think we have our culprit!

I'll still take some sympathy, mind...

My LO is exactly the same. I can honestly say its a living nightmare. Hardly any sleep at night and up all the time and daytime is completely to pot. Constant crying and whinging for what is normally a happy content baby and complete refusal to sleep in his cot now in the daytime. Nap 1 in my bed and nap 2 in his car seat on the sofa. No nap 3 due to being a miserable bugger. I really hope something is to blame and that he's not just a grump. He does have a very runny nose and some congestion but not an actual cold.
I feel your pain.
