Sitting up in her sleep??

My little girl is 8 months old and sometimes a good sleeper. She was fantastic at night from 2-4 months, sleeping 12-13 hours straight (and she's EBF!) and then has been through the usual sleep regressions at 4-5 months and a shorter one at 6 months. Between these "stormy periods" as I call them she is really pretty good for a bf baby, sleeping 7-7 with one or two settled feeds.

She has just learned to crawl and sit up on her own. She was ill last week so was needing a lot more night feeding and cuddles, but is all better again now.

However for the last week or so, she keeps sitting up in her sleep - then inevitably wakes up! She is doing this dozens of times a night. It is exhausting, I have to pin her back down again as she seems incapable of lying down again by herself...

We were doing a combo of cot in the first half of the night, then co-sleeping for the second half (she normally has one or two bfs around 4am) but we are back to full time co-sleeping just so we can help her with this incessant sitting up, which I'm not too happy about.

Has anyone else had this? Will it pass???

It will pass! My lb didnt do it with sitting up but done it when he learnt to stand! It lasted a few weeks! I believe it's just because they dream about their new skill...aaawww
It's just a phase I'm sure :)

Now we have progressed to standing up in her sleep...

I am very impressed with the new skills but the night times aren't great...!

I agree that she is definitely dreaming about standing and crawling!
