Baby with a cold

My 5 month old seems to have his first cold. What can I do to help him. He's sleeping more in the day, restless at night.

Poor thing. Keep the cuddles and calpol flowing. Maybe prop cot mattress up at head end a bit, can help head congestion. Get an infant karvol bottle from chemist and daub on a muslin. Hope better soon.

My DS had his first cold over the weekend. We used mild vaopur rub, olbas oil, saline nose spray, made sure he drank lots of water and loads and loads of cuddles. Hope he feels better soon.

There's this really good rub called Snuffle Babe - kinda like Vicks for babies that was a lifesaver when dd last had a cold.

Thank you everyone. It's awful listening to him snuffling and crying all at the same time. Straight back to sleep this morning instead of even getting up for his breakfast bless him. Hope it doesn't last long. It's too quiet lol x
