Surely this can't be normal

DD is 23 weeks and has always been a great sleeper. For weeks now when i wake up in the morning (about 7.30) she is just lying there, looking at her mobile (or me, in the bed beside her cot!) and normally sucking her thumb. Never any crying, noises or gurning, despite not having been fed since 6/6.30pm. I'm not complaining, but just wondered if it is 'normal'?

how wonderful! I'd enjoy it. Maybe she's just a peaceful contented baby! Smile

She generally is very contented during the day but when she started to do this it freaked me out a bit! I'd waken up and look in the cot, expecting to see her eyes closed and it just seemed a bit weird to have her staring back at me!

It could all change (not wishing that on you in any way. No envy going on I promise - well maybe a little)

DS2 does this too (although he's always had at least two feeds in the time period you describe) - but he always wakes up and looks about before making a noise. Makes me jump sometimes when I look into this crib and see him gazing up at me, then he grins Grin
