15 month still needs two naps

But there isn't really time to have two!

He was in a 2,3,4 routine napping about 9-10 and 1-3 but recently he hasn't been ready for a nap at 1 often not asleep until 2 and then I have to wake at 330 otherwise he won't go to bed. Even if I wake at 330 he still sometimes take ages to get to sleep at bedtime.

think he needs to drop morning nap which I have cut down to 20mins and then have one long nap at middayish. But he cannot stay awake in the morning. Today he woke at 645 and by 915 was moaning to be put down for a nap!

Help Confused

You could try pushing the morning nap back by 10-15 mins over time til it gets to about 11am then amalgamate it with the long nap.

Thanks that is what I might try.....but then pm nap gets later? I think we are just in that horrible in between stage. Two naps is too much one is not enough!

Try aiming for 2-2.5 hours between about 11-2ish and then a catnap around 4pm (15-20 mins tops) then eventually the later nap will disappear of its own accord.

My 16month old falls asleep on way home from pre school run, so about 9.30! She sleeps them for about an hour, and again about 1.30 for another hour. Sometimes at 2. I'm not fighting it now until summer holidays. If she falls asleep she must need it!
