Hello all I hope you can help ! my two and a half year old boy has always been such a good sleeper until last few weeks. He used to have 2hour naps and sleep from 7pm until 8am. At Xmas he went into big bed and was fine for about 2 weeks although i couldnt get him to have a nap unless he fell asleep in car / buggy. Anyway - he started playing up at night and not falling asleep until 9pm some nights and then waking 5 or 6 times a night then waking at 6am for the day. I then had a totally exhausted toddler on my hands who i could barely cope with so i reintroduced proper naps in bed again and he accepted this happily and will sleep for 2 hours at lunch again. However - night problems are only getting worse. I just dont know what to do - our days are not enjoyable as he is so tired and finds it so hard to get through without a sleep - he is ruining our evenings and getting us up at night constantly. Advice would be greatly appreciated. He does have gate on his room and i dont go to him all the time - he puts him self to bed eventually.....hope i make sense ! Thanks, clare x

hello there. I can't be that much help as my ds's sleeping has caused me to resurrect another thread THIS MORNING but i would just say that cutting out his nap after lunch have really really improved the actual going to bed bit of the procedure. so sympathise with you- it is just so awful isn't it? especially as he was always good. i can just hear all my peer group muttering "ha! got her come-uppance at last!" good luck, don't forget to tell us what works with you! x
