5mo Sleep Issues

Wondering if anyone can offer any help!!
My 5mo DD just won't sleep anywhere but on me apart from 10pm onwards!
At night, from after 10pm when we all go to bed, DD sleeps in side-car cot without too much problem, we both get into bed, I feed her, when she is done and drowsy I plonk her in her cot and she will kick around for 5-10 mins and send herself to sleep. (It has however taken a long time to get to this stage)
However she won't sleep in a cot at any other time of day and its really getting to me. All other sleeping is on me on the sofa or in the pram after we've been out for a walk. Being pushed in it in the house doesn't work.
Up until recently she has been awake the majority of the evening so going to bed at 10pm worked relatively ok. However, she is now getting tired earlier - I'm presuming because she is using so much more energy being physically active during the day now- so I really need to find a way to get her to sleep in a cot without me.
It doesn't seem to matter what I do she just won't go to sleep in the cot. I've tried putting her in awake, asleep etc and she just cries. If she is asleep she knows as soon as I start lowering her in and her eyes jolt open.
She's been like this from day one.
I just don't know how to change this and I really need to so that I can get some of my days and evenings back. Its really getting to me. I've been bringing my bed time earlier so that she is in bed in the evening but that is ridiculous in the long term and doesn't help with daytime naps. How can I make sleeping in the cot ok? I don't understand why it works last thing at night and no other time.I feel like a big failue that after 5 months I still can't get my baby to sleep without being attached to me.
Hope this isn't too much of a rambling mess and that someone is able to offer some tips. Thank you!

Sorry I don't have any advice, just wanted to say, please don't feel like a failure. You're not alone!

I have similar problem, DS has every bad habit in the book. He is 6 months and wakes and needs feeding back to sleep every 90 f**ing minutes at night, and we have the whole eyes open as soon as he's put down in cot. Ends up sleeping on me part of the night.

Hopefully someone will be along with more advice....
