Some quick cc questions

We have made great progress with my 11mo ds who was fed and rocked to sleep until a few weeks ago. I have managed to get him settling by himself in the cot using the gradual retreat method. The only problem being is that as soon as he stirs in the night and sees that I am not there he stands up and screams, this can be 4/5 times a night. We have been riding the storm for a few weeks but I've been doing a gentle version of cc today to get him used to me walking out of the door.

It has been successful as after nap refusal for 2 weeks he has managed 2 naps and been showing clear tired signs this evening. Bedtime went well. Now onto my questions!

When he wakes in the night do I go in and check him first or leave it the 2mins crying?

I have been doing 2 mins, 4 mins, 6 mins etc so when he starts to settle, lies down but then stands and starts crying again do I start back at 2 mins or carry on at the last interval?

Thanks in advance... I can feel that sleep is within reaching distance for all of us!

If he cries during night, I'd wait the two minutes before going in - unless he sounds really in distress.

I would always start a new interval if he starts crying again after having settled.

Oh, and good luck!

Great thanks! Feeling really postive as his cries were actually more like shouts this evening. He got a bit angry but not upset iykwim. I think he is ready for this and it will make a big difference to us all.
