Bedtime routine

How do you set a bedtime routine? How do you fit feeding into it? My DS took a feed at 4.30, and won't be looking for food again until 9ish but I want to start trying to put him down earlier.

Should I just give him his last feed after his bath at 7pm (a top up if you will) and then just put him to bed?

He is 7 weeks btw - I'm confused?!

At that age I just kept them with me but I can't see why you couldn't try an extra feed at 7pm and then see if he settles. If its not working out for you, you could try a bath before the 9pm feed and then try putting him down then.

I wouldn't worry too much about bedtimes yet though, just enjoy those newborn cuddles.

Gosh ds2 is 14 weeks and he just stays in the living room with me until I go to bed. He sleeps/eats when he wants. I think 7 weeks is so tiny to be trying any bedtime routine personally.

EB have you read sound sleep or Babycalming.

Both should help you find a routine that suits you and your baby Smile

And don't forget the isis website. It's a great place to start if you are thinking of changing Los sleep at any age.
