Anyone recommend a bedtime light show type thing?

Have 2 yr old dd and 3 month old ds. Dd always gone to sleep with us in room. Ds still sleeping downstairs until we go up to bed then into Moses basket but soon to go in cot in own room.

Need light show for one or both of them so they can be amused/lulled to sleep while I deal with the other. Any tips?

Do they go sleep watching it?

Mine had one that showed an image on the ceiling and played a tune.
They did go to sleep watching it.
Word of warning though - mine were quite reliant on it so it's worth getting something that's practical to take with you should you be away from home.

Well she usually watches it while drifting off so yes it is quite soothing for her. there are times when she just presses the buttons repeatedly though, which can get a bit tedious!

We've always just used the tomy star. It's £14.99 in Argos I think. Compact and easy to take away with you if you need to. It clips onto the side of the cot.

And yes DS goes to sleep watching it. If he wakes in the night he turns it on and it puts him back to sleep

We've got the v-tech one- it plays music but also just 'soothing sounds' I put the music on in the mornings as it seems to excite five month old dd, but the sounds soothe her to sleep and she watches the lights.

It doesn't play music and my 5 month old baby loves it. Oh is jealous and wants one when dd moves to her own room

We have the Tomy star. Using it as part fo a bedtime routine is one of the main reasons 7.5 mth old ds now goes to sleep on his own in his cot instead of me feeding him to sleep then staying with him.
I really recommend it, it's cheap, easy to use, nice music and bright lights.

Tomy star plays for 5 or 10 minutes depending on which you select.

We've had ours two months and just had to change the batteries. We didn't think that was bad, it must take a lot of power to run it and we use it for about an hour a day if you include bedtime and three naps!
