ok dd2 is 7mths old she's been waking in the night for 2 hours per night for a couple of weeks as im working eve's and weekends and trying to start a business as well as take care of dd1 and 2 in the daytime i have decided to break the habit before it goes on too long.

last night was night one - she woke at 1.10am dp went downstairs without seeing to her or waking me as instructed at 1.30am i woke up and ignored dd2 for 15 mins then i put her dummy in without eye contact etc and got straight back into bed then i did this about every 5 mins until she fell asleep at 2.30am.

ok so this might seem cruel to some but im writing this thread so i can see how it goes and also so others can see if this method works (which i really hope it does) feel free to offer advice.

btw my dd1 slept through from 5 mths because i am a very deep sleeper and i really dont think i heard her wake once she went into her own room this time my dp is a very light sleeper and keeps getting up to dd2's every murmer. Also we havent put her in with her sister yet because i dont want her waking her up.

any advice is welcome Smile fingers crossed this will work. ive also taken her morning nap away so she is only having 2 hours per day.

It sounds like a great idea, once you are confident, its just 'playtime' mode kicking in, which you obviously are.

My DS was having 2* 1hour naps at this point, roughly 10am and 2pm, so maybe thatd be an option to consider too.

Good luck, hope tonight goes well too!!

I will watch this thread with interest - have a similar situation going on here and was planning on starting baby boot camp in a couple of months when my dd2 will be the same age as yours.

Good luck!!

just updating. am now on day 8 and we have only had 2 nights where she has woken (when we've got into bed) for about 20mins but we just ignored her and she settled herself. i think the next step is to move her into her into her sisters room but im going to wait until dd1 is staying out for a couple of nights so i can get dd2 settled otherwise they will keep waking each other up.
