...that is dim enough not to disturb adult sleep, but bright enough to observe latch and check nappy?

I use the push lights (often sold in petrol stations). I have one either side of me and just use as required.

I've got a plug in LED one which was £2 from asda. We had a better one which was a 'nicer' light but it stopped working and is discontinued now, but this one does the job. I've got it on an extension lead sitting on my bedside table.

I use landing light and the light from my phone - but DS is in his own room now so I have to get up anyway. Those little push ones sound good.

The Brother Max one is great, also easy to carry about for trips to the loo or when baby moves into their own room. Pricey though.

We got a GroEgg from Mothercare, which has a temperature indicator. Absolutely useless for seeing anything, however! Couldn't see DD's mouth or how much she'd drunk from her bottle, so went back to using the bedside lamp again...

Don't buy that one!

I used to use one of those little book lights they sell in WHSmiths

Tried and tested, I can recommend this one.

I use it myself for feeding my lb, can see well enough but doesn't wake my other half x

IKEA spoka one is great. Has a rechargeable battery so can also be unplugged and moved by child if they want when they are older.

spoka

Probably because I got the link from the mobile site. Search 'night light' on Ebay, and its the 3rd result down. A pack of two for £4.99 with free postage. Not overly fashionable as far as night lights go, but give off just the right level of light for me x
