I know the guidelines say to wait till they are 6 months, but do you think the following is OK for the sake of a couple if weeks?

We are moving into a new house on the 4th March, where ds will have his own room. He will be 6 months on the 26th March. Would he be OK in his own room straight away?

Tia.

I do. The "peak' for SIDS is around 4 months I remember reading somewhere. A lot of children sleep in their own room before 6 months, and they don't all die of SIDS.

If you're uneasy about it could you sleep in there with him for the first couple of weeks? DD went into her own room the day she came home from hospital but we have a bed in there so I slept in her room for the first few months. Do what feels right for you.

I'm OK with him going in by himself, but wasn't sure how strict the guidelines are. It will also be nice for us to have our bedroom back Smile
