Just some advice really, what time does everyone else put there lo down to sleep in the day.

I have tried putting him down today and he has just gone off straight away. Noticed that he seems to be shortening nap from 2hours to only 45 min yesterday and up at 6.30am this morning, pulling my hair out with him as he is so tired.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

My dd is nearly 19 months - so same ballpark!

DD generally goes to bed anytime between 6.30 to 7.30 in the evening and sleeps through until between 7 am and 8 am. She has her lunch at about 11.30 and then goes to bed. She used to sleep up to 2 and a half hours but now has reduced to 2 hours if I am lucky - this is when she is at home.

On the days she goes to Nursery she may only have a half hour sleep - then I know she is going to be really cranky when she comes home until she goes to bed.

As dd1 has a long sleep at lunch she doesn't have any other naps during the day.

I also have a 11 week old dd2 - and she is also asleep now - I'm trying to get the long naps to coincide so I can have some time by myself to have lunch and look at Mumsnet! Wink Smile HTH

MY DS is 22m - he sleeps 7pm-7am on average at night. During the day he has one nap which has been at 11.30 for ages but I'm trying to make it later (12.30 today). As for how long he sleeps, at the moment you may as well ask "how long is a piece of string?" Smile
For ages it was only ever 30-45mins but the last few weeks its ranged from 30mins to a fluke 2.5 hrs. Bit of a pain as it means I never want to start doing anything "in case" he wakes up after 30 mins.

My ds 23 months, sleeps from 7pm until about 6.15am. Then sleeps from 12 after his lunch until anything between 1.15 and 2.45!

He started to sleep less these last couple of weeks only for an hour or so and been really tired by about 4pm.

What has worked for him is making him really tired in the morning by taking him walking, playing in the garden on his bike etc, so lots of physical exercise. He then sleeps alot better after his lunch. Might be worth a try if your not doing that already
