She is warm and comfortable.
Her tummy is full - she's had a good meal and two boobs of milk.
She is tired after a busy day.
Her room is quiet, warm and dark.
Her nappy is fine.
Her jarmers are soft.
Everything is familiar.

She is in a deep, happy sleep.

But WAIT!! She's had a better idea!! Why not stand up and howl miserably instead??!

Why?

WHY????

I really wish I knew the answer to this!

Maybe some one wiser will come & help us both!

It makes no sense. I've tried explaining that to her but she is impervious to reason.

If we knew the answer, we'd be millionaires!! After a month of assorted coughs, colds, viral wheezes and chest infections that cocked up DS's sleep we had a blissful week of sleeping through 6-6. Until two nights ago where he suddenly became screaming, unsettle-able, banshee baby for two hours in the middle of the night. A feat he repeated last night also... Why? I have no idea... Just hoping the crapness will bugger off as suddenly as it came!!!

If you were talking about my son I'd say he wanted to have a cuddle in the big bed or he wanted to sleep on someones chest. He loves the big bed but I can't blame him as the matrass is wonderful.

How much sleep is she getting during the day?

Teeth.

I second teeth.

Sleep goes in cycles at certain points in the night we are all much less deeply asleep.

For my two this seemed to happen around 12-12.30 just as we'd gone to bed.

Possibly we woke them as they were less deeply asleep. Perhaps the house being suddenly silent was frightening?

But was whaa, just as you are going to sleep and or at 2-3 am after a similar length sleep cycle is all too common.
