Night weaning and insomnia

Did anyone else get this? How long does it last?

Am night weaning DS (23 months) with Jay Gordon's method, and it's working like a charm. We haven't fed in the night since last Thursday, with no trauma or distress. This, from a DS who was feeding hourly through the night.

However, my dreams of sleep now seem laughable. Not only have I become tearful and anxious, but I am more wide awake than ever for most of the night.

Is this normal?

I get it when my DTs randomly don't have a nighttime feed. I am awake from about 3am - and am relieved when one of them wakes so I can feed them back to sleep and get back to sleep myself.

Because I only get it randomly I'm not sure how long it lasts. But when my DTs both slept through the night for 2 months (a long time ago) it took me 2 weeks to feel 'normal' again.

Thanks for replying. It's been a week since he last fed during the night, so I'm hoping I'll get some sleep soon
