Extending daytime naps

Hi, my DTs don't nap for long enough in the day, esp DTS and he is sooo grumpy I really need to get him sleeping for longer. They are 13 months now and napping has been an issue for months!
They wake 6ish, go for a nap 9.30ish for 30-40 mins and then nap again 1.30ish for the inevitable 40mins. Today, DTD has carried on napping after he woke which is great (she has been asleep for 1hr10 so far) but every day, like clockwork DTS wakes after 40mins and then is grumpy for the rest of the day. Bearing in mind they share a room so any form of crying to extend naps is tricky! Thanks

Can you put a travel cot in your room to separate them for naps? If DS is overtired he wakes up after 40 minutes, cries loudly for about 3 minutes and then will often settle back...
