Sleep regression - how to get through it?

DD is nearly 5mo. She used to sleep on DH or me for chunks of the evening even though she wouldn't go down in her cot but not any more; she either screams or wants to play. I've given up trying to get her down until we go to bed and just have her downstairs with us so DH and I at least get to spend a bit of time in the same room. But it means she's only getting 8 hours max at night and maybe 3 half-hour naps during the day which doesn't seem enough. I don't know what to do; I'm already following her tired cues but nothing works to actually get her to sleep in the evening. Sorry this is probably really incoherent as I'm knackered and frightened I'm getting it all horribly wrong. What should I be doing, or is this just one of the "get through it however you can" phases? And when will it stop?

Our dd went through a bad few weeks, waking every 90 mins, at 4 mths, to be honest just sleep when you can and it will hopefully get better. I had a few weeks of going to bed at 9 with a flask. Dd would settle as we were in bed together (cot attached). Could DH have her whilst you get a head start on sleep? You just need to sleep somehow. Have you tried co-sleeping? It will pass. X
