Last night between 2 and 4. The night before between 4 and 6. Ds is 17 mo eats well, normal development and generally a very happy smiley baby. But for some reason he has started waking some nights for up to 2 hours. I try everything, milk, water, cuddles, singing, rocking, in bed with us and sometimes leave him to it for a while!! He doesn't really cry......just whinging. Nothing makes him sleep. Might be teeth or developmental....some nights he just lays in my arms saying all his new words......cute but not at 2 in the morning.
Wondering if any of you lovely ladies have any experiences to share? Or advice?

my ds is similar also 17m ,although less keen to be alone whilst awake. i have put much of it down to teething and excitement at being able to walk which is new, as is move to mattress on the floor as was getting to tall for his cot, and lots Of other exciting stuff like new words etc to practice!
i have been out walking with him for last three days in hope fresh air and physical exhaustion will help, so far 50% success rate!

Mine does this too! I've heard waking to sleep is helpful but DS (11mths) likes to vary the time to keep me on my toes. No solutions here and as he has been doing it since September I am getting desperate!

My son did the same at that age, went through a phase for several weeks of waking for two hours pretty much to the minute. Nothing worked trying to get himback to sleep before then, me and my husband took it in hour long shifts to lie next to his cot shushing him and patting mattress telling him it was night night time, keep it low key and boring.

On the upside he started sleeping through around 18 months and has touch wood been a good sleeper since
