My recently turned one year old has been waking earlier and earlier and now its 5.30 start. She usually sleeps through until then (only as of the last month or so, prior to then it was 10months of very regular wakings :-(. ) I'm proper exhausted. My husband likes to go to bed about 12 and I need a lot more sleep than I'm getting. I am going to try and make myself go to bed tonight at 9!

Does it mean she's ready for one nap? She does sleep happily for an hour about 930and then usually in the car for 40mins at 1.30ish.

I have to put her to bed about 7 or just before as she shares with big sister who is exhausted by then (and sleeps until 7 !)

Any ideas welcomed!! Thankyou.

Hi, I'm not sure I have any real help but our dds are the same age and I am having similar issues. Well actually my dd started taking ages to fall asleep for pm nap and it was getting to 3.30pm sometimes before she fell asleep.

Over the past 2 weeks I have started putting her down at noon after an early lunch. I did it for a few days, then she seemed particularly tired so I did 2 naps for a couple of days. Then I started 1 nap again for 4 days it was GREAT! A 2hour nap at noon, then 12.5/13 hrs at night after a slighly earlier (6.30/45ish) bedtime.
Our routine for those lovely days was:
6.40pm - alseep for night
7.30am ish - awake for day
12.00-2.00 - nap

It was wonderful. Thought I'd cracked it. But now not so sure. Yesterday dd woke up sometime around or a bit before 6! Today she was awake, moaning, restless from 5am!!

I'm thinking now that 1 nap every day is not good for her right now.

I'm thinking she probably woke at this time because she is OT as I keep reading on here. I still will never get why babies sleep less when they're really tired though.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble. Think I'm just trying to say that 1 nap isn't always the answer especially everyday. Do you think your lo coule be OT too. 2.10-7pm is a long awake time as I have found out?
