Is my 6no waking himself up?

My little boy is a few days off 6 months. We had a pretty horrendous 4 month sleep regression, with 6 weeks of him waking every hour/hour and a half. We then suddenly had a couple of amazing weeks when he just woke once or twice for a quick feed.
Over Christmas we visited 2 sets of grandparents and he got a cold, which he is now recovering from, and he has also begun working on crawling - pushing off on his feet, lifting knees and bum up etc.
Anyway, we had a few bad nights with the cold and being away, but 3 days ago we seemed to be almost back to normal with a 5 hour stretch. But the last 2 nights have been hour/hour and half again and often when we go in he is on his front, lifting his knees under him and getting frustrated cos he can't go anywhere.

So, my question is, as he seems to be waking himself by rolling on to his front, is there anything we can do about this? Or is he having another sleep regression associated with learning this new skill.
And why oh why is the lack of sleep so much worse when you've been spoilt by 2 lovely weeks of rest?!!

TIA Smile

Mine is doing this exact same recovering from a cold but it 5 1/2 months. Regarding the rolling over thing my DS can only do it back to tummy not the other way round so during the night I have put a baby wedge in with him (goes under his back and he can't roll during his sleep got it off eBay). But am going to watch with interest for the advice- good luck.

Good to know we're not alone Jayne. Just praying that this is something that is going to pass, and that are 2 good weeks weren't a fluke!

Do you find the wedge is helping?CD can roll both ways but not in his grobah it seems!

To be honest I use it for my own worries, I guess until they are a lil bit older u can use the wedge and grow bag or use a blanket and let them go mad. Or get a blanket and roll up either side to test it.
