13 month old suddenly waking every night

Our 13 moth old DD has always been qutie a good sleeper but in the last 4 weeks it's all gone pearshaped. She's waking up every night, probably only once, but it can take up to an hour before she is back asleep.

I dont make a fuss of her, just pick her up the first time, give her a 30 second cuddle for reassurance then put her back down and turn on her gentle music (the same as she has at her initial bedtime). When i go back in next time i dont pick her up but just touch her gently and make shhhing noises. I always wake a few minutes between her crying and my going in.
I'm convinced that she is not in any pain as
a) it's been every night for 4 weeks
b) she stops crying as soon as I enter the room
c) on the odd occasion when I have tried giving calpol or nurofen it's made no difference to the pattern.
d) she's absolutely fine during the daytime.

Any ideas please on how to stop this happening?
I have a 5 year old DS and I just count myself very lucky that DD's crying doesn't wake him up.
I feel worse now that i felt when she was a new born - at least then you expect to get woken up in the night Smile

Also the mother of a 13 month dd. Can't think why your dd is waking but only suggestions I would make are: Don't pick her up at all when you go in for the first time. Just pat her and make calming noises. Try and extend the time you wait to go in by a minute every time. Hang in there, sure it's only a phase, even if a very tiring one.

Is there a chance she is teething? My dd used to wake up for a few weeks before each tooth appeared.
