18 mo long bedtimes

In the last week or so, ds' bedtime has been getting longer and longer and consequently he's going to bed later and we're losing our wine/tv/chocolate time.

Routine wise he has 1-2.5 hrs nap before 2.30pm. Has tea at 6pm followed by bath at 7, then milk & books and songs & cuddles. We've never left him to sleep on his own and usually he falls asleep having a cuddle or with one of us lying next to him - we then put him in his cot.

He used to be asleep by 730/745 but recently it's been closer to 9pm which is driving us a bit bonkers.

He tends to sleep through to 630ish so at least once he's asleep he stays asleep.

Any advice? What time do your 18mos go to sleep? Are we just starting his bedtime too early? What gentle methods could we use to get him to fall asleep in his cot? Help!

Maybe try an earlier nap? So by bedtime he is really ready for sleep?
My 15 month old wakes at around 6-7am and then is back in bed for a nap by 10 and has 1-2hours so no napping after 12-1. So Come 6 he is very happy and ready for bath, milk and bed. He had his warm milk and a story then a quick cuddle and straight into his cot with his glowing/music seahorse (from Argos and amazing) and he sends himself to sleep with his dummy and cloth.
Hope this helps, maybe he's just a bit dependant on you to help him fall asleep?
