Any sleepwalking toddlers out there?

I posted previously about this in behaviour/development but got very few replies so I'm left wondering if it's not that common.

I sleepwalked as a kid. Lots. Dangerously on occasions so I'm really hoping I haven't passed it on to 21mo DD.

She's never been the best sleeper anyway and so we've recently seen a sleep specialist who advised that she might be over-stimulated. We've made lots of changes and we're sticking to our new night-time regime even though it's friggin' killing us. We've been doing the whole Supernannying thing of putting her back in bed, back in, back in, back in and it works to an extent.

But half the time she's rolled out and is up and about but she's not even awake! How the hell do I deal with that?

Also, she's so restless that when we do try to put her back in she's trying to roll out immediately. She just doesn't stay still!

Even sleep specialist was flummoxed on what to suggest for the sleepwalking but said she thought if we implicated all the other stuff it might ease. I'm not so sure!

Anyone else with a sleepwalker? Any tips? Thanks!

DS1 used to sleepwalk. He still talks (and sometimes shouts!) in his sleep but only when he is overtired. It has improved a lot with age. What would happen if she had one of those sides on the bed to stop children rolling out?
