Don't all tell me I don't know how lucky I am please - am confused today! My 2 month old goes about 3 hours between the start of one feed and the start of the next, though he does have a 5 or 6 hour chunk of sleep at night (oh hallelujah!) Anyway, he slept from about 10.30pm to 5am when he woke for his feed; I fed him till about 6 and he nodded off about 7.30am. And he is still asleep... Its nearly noon! I would have expected him to want feeding 8 / 9 ish, and about now, but he seems to have skipped his second breakfast altogether.
Is he deliberately trying to keep me on my toes!?
And usually, he is so hard to persuade to have a sleep during the day - he WILL NOT go in his cot during the day, though he settles into it on his own at night, and tends to just catnap for 10/15 minute bursts thru the day in the living room - which results in him dozing when I feed him and getting progressively grumpier as the day goes on!
Sorry if a sleeping baby seems a daft thing to be asking advice about, but I am really astonished at him - he isn't unwell and yes, I did take the chance to have a sleep myself, 2.5 hours curled up on the sofa with my lovely doggy, bliss!

I'm sure he's fine - he may be going through a growth spurt. As long as seems well with no temperature I wouldn't worry about it.
and
............

I'm sorry I can't help it..... you are lucky, enjoy it.

sorry.

Make the most of it Lisa. Keep your feet up and don't you dare do any ironing!! You'll be giving the rest of us a bad name!

He didn't have his first jabs this week, did he? Mine always slept & slept after the vaccinations.

Lisa78 · 09/01/2004 12:29

No he had them 2 weeks ago! Was it Erma Burbeck who said "My favourite household chore is ironing. My second favourite is banging my head against the bunk beds until I pass out"?
He's just woken up and is sucking like he is starving - good job since I thinkI have 5 pints in there!
Wonder if he'll go back to his 3 hourly feeds now or start going longer?

My dd did exactly this at exactly the same age!

I think it was a growth spurt or something, but it scared me silly at the time - even when I tried waking her up she just went back to sleep again.

Enjoy the time to yourself - it lasted a few days (I think 4 but my memory is hazy - could've been a week).

Enjoy it Lisa78 - and no DON'T WAKE HIM

Chandra · 09/01/2004 14:42

Don't mean to spoil the fun, forget the ironing, go to bed and have a good long nap, tonight is canival night!!!

Sorry, I meant to say carnival, however... he may well be hungry as well
