Big boy beds

Question is : when did you put your dc in a bed rather than a cot? Our cot has no drop down side, we are about to try for another baby and I'm worried I won't manage the drop while I'm expecting :(

We got round to putting DS in a bed with a bed rail when he had just turned 2. He's nearly 3 and has never got out of bed in the night (fingers crossed) and most of the time he's still in a sleeping bag. Other parents I know moved their children earlier because they got too big for their cots but we had a cot bed so that wasn't an issue.

Hmm hes 9mths and we have a cot bed - its just such a drop over the side... have to cross that bridge when we come to it I suppose cheers for answering
