Baby boy, 15 weeks old. From a young age self soothed, all an and bed time. No dummy, rocking anything. Would go down awake and in a few mins be asleep. Has been going through the night for about 3 weeks. Last 4-5 days have been nightmare, nas have been ok ish, fussing for a few mins...but would fall asleep ok. Night is bad. Ok going to sleep, but will then wake several time in the night, won't be able to fall back asleep on his own! What can I do do help him. I don't want I start feeding him again in the night or really any other trick to get him back to sleep, worried he will continue to rely on these all the time.
Please any advise, also how long will this last?

You should actually start feeding him in the night because that's part of the reason for the wake-ups - there's big developmental changes happening which require more fuel, which therefore means night feeds. If you're lucky, things will return to status quo and your baby may not become reliant on them.

There's no hard and fast rule as to how long it lasts - some it only lasts a few days; for me and a friend of mine it's still going (at 6.5 months and 10 months respectively). Hope yours only lasts a few days!

Hmm, well it could be a growth spurt, so it might be that he needs a feed. I'm sure if he is a good self-settler and he has been sleeping through until recently that he'll do so again, so I wouldn't worry about that. If he's hungry and you don't feed, though, you may be setting your DS and yourself up for some very disturbed nights! Plus, it may set up habitual wakings. If I were you, I'd just feed him if he won't settle and hopefully you will be back to lovely long sleeps before you know it! Xmas Smile
