15month old into toddler bed?

DS hates his cot, its a screaming match when I put him in it. He is happy to fall asleep in my arms but as soon as I put him down he wakens. He wakes in the middle of the night, sometimes we can settle him in the cot most times he cries so much we bring him in with us. I am wondering about using a toddler bed/mattress on the floor for him where he can fall asleep and we wont have to move him. Has anyone used this?

This approach is suggested in the 'No cry sleep solution' - just have to make sure that he can't roll into anything dangerous or get stuck in a gap. Could use foam or blow up bed guards?

We transferred to a bed via a mattress on the floor at around two. It worked well for us as I began getting him to sleep by lying beside him on the floor and he stopped almost all night wakings because he was sleeping in the same place where he had started.

I think the only issue is around ventilation under the mattress, but if you are moving it around then it should get aired.
