bed guards for cotbed with slatted base - recommendations?

DS is 2 & we want to move him into his bed soon (he wants out of his sleeping bags & without them he can climb out!). The wardrobe is right next to the bed so if we take the cot sides off & he rolls out that way, I'm worried he may hit his head on it. I can't put the bed with one side against a wall due to the size/layout of the room. So I think we will need a bedguard, at least on one side.

The bed is a cotbed with a slatted base. I've been checking out some product reviews & most (eg lindam/summer infant/babydan) seem to get rubbish reviews & say they aren't compatible with a slatted base. I'd wondered about the foam wedge or inflatable types but concerned they may take up too much room in a cotbed (140x70cm)

So....what have you got & can you recommend it?

We have a cot bed with a slatted base and used this Baby Dan bed guard:

It had the added advantage of being portable for when we went away. We haven't yet come across a bed it wouldn't fit (double beds excpeted of course :))

We have bog standard lindam guard and use it with slatted base with no problems.
