Nearly 3yo won't sleep in a bed

Help! My DD is nearly three and all her friends are out of their cots and into beds. We have tried DD in a bed but she refuses to sleep in it and just wants her cot. She gets quite upset if you push the point.

She has a "proper" bed rather than a toddler bed or cot bed as DH thought little beds were a waste of money. We've got bed guards to try and make her feel more secure and duvet clips (as she's also v keen on her sleeping bag).

We've tried reading on the bed and playing pretend sleep games on it during the day and she's quite happy with that but when it comes to bed time she just cries and clings on to the cot. She knows that everyone else sleeps in a bed but she just doesn't want to give up her cot.

Any ideas?

Have you tried just letting her in the bed with her sleeping bag on. Or maybe lettign her get used to a duvet in the cot. So that the change isn't such a big one? I wouldn't really worry about it too much unless she is outgrowing the cot.
