Curious really as to how much your 11 month old sleeps through the day. Dd is 11 months tomorrow and has started going to bed later than normal. I'm wondering if shes having to long in the day. A typical day is;

7ish - wake
10ish - nap. This is usually an hour but can't go 1.5 hrs
2.30 - nap. Usually an hour max
7 - bottle and sleep. Usually sleeping by 7.30pm

She had always slept well at night. She has started teething the past few days (cut first tooth yesterday) but last night it was 9.45 before she finally settled and then wax up at 6.30am this morning! She was exhausted!! She's been down for her nap now 45 mins, but I wondering if I should just start to limit naps to 1 hr each?

I know that the teething thing could be what's caused the late nights recently, but I'm curious just incase it's not.

Not sure if this helps, but I've been having (many) problems with my almost 9mo sleep since day 1. I've read all info re sleep breeds sleep, the more they sleep in the day the more thay sleep at night, put them to bed earlier so they sleep longer (or later into the morning) and I don't know if my dd is just a one off but literally NONE of these things has worked for me (consistently for more than 1 day).

The best night results I have had have been in the last few nights where she has not napped that long but has slept well at night (and has even been happy and good natured all day too.

Basically

Day 1 - am nap - 1hr 10
pm nap - 35mins!!!! (thought I was in trouble that aftrenoon!!)
BT - 7.15pm (alseep by 7.25am)
Woke next day 7.10am!! (altho she has been awake a little in the night as I Hhad to wake her to change her nappy - I could SMELL her when I went to check on her before I went to bed!!) tmi!

Day 2 - am nap - 1hr
pm nap - 1hr
BT 7.05 alsleep by 7.10pm
Woke next day 6.10am (a little early I know but still 11 full hours with no wakings at all)

I think what I'm trying to say is that sometimes the advise they give about more sleep in day = more night sleep does not seem to work for evey baby.

I would say that previously the better she has slept during the day, the better she would at night. She was a notorious 30 min on the dot napper up until maybe 2 months ago so I am enjoying these longer naps! She is very active, always on the go and is starting to walk so I think she does have a lot of energy to use up so maybe still needs the long sleeps. She got up just after an hr this morning so I'll maybe limit her pm nap and see how bedtime goes tonight.

Good luck with your dc too Smile

My 11 month old goes to sleep at 6.45pm, sleeps through til around 6.30am, and has two daytime naps (one at around 9.45am and one at 1.30pm) which both last around an hour
