Singing himself to sleep

help
My son is now 3 and a bit. His bizarre habits in bed started when he was about 7 months and that was with him banging his head against the side of the cot. Now he's in a bed and he has started to sing himself to sleep, fine at 7pm but at 2 and 3 in the morning, at the top of his voice for occasionally 2 hours at a time it's a nightmare. We did go to a sleep clinic to be told it's a unique problem and not get much help. Has anyone any ideas? I'd love a good nights sleep. :)

How long has this been going on SK?

Well, the singing started about the time he could talk properly really. So about 20 months. I'm less tolerant of it now as he is waking up our new baby (6 months) and I'm due to go back to work.

crikey, this is some habit!

I'm a big advocate of cranial osteopathy.

We only had 4 full nights sleep in his first year and he used to wake every 4 hours from being over one, just up until his second birthday. Sometimes it could be every two. You have my complete sympathy.
We have tried cranial osteopathy. I know some people will poo poo it, but our DS now sleeps on average 11-12 hrs solid at night. It was the tension in his head that was casing his bad sleep (he had like a tension headache all the time) He was also a head banger on doors / his cot/ the floor through the day.

Maybe this is worth a try?
Hope you get some sleep soon!
