Have you had his ears checked again? Ear infections can be very easy to miss. Spent a week recently yelling at my DS for not doing the things I asked and not answering me, turned out to be an ear infection Blush.

babyrose · 25/08/2012 18:59

His ears look ok but the last time he had one it just had the discharge coming out (sorry)

He wont go to his naps and b/time the same.

I wouldn't wait until there is a discharge before you get it checked baby, try him with some ibruprofen and if he improves then he must be feeling rough.

Iggly · 25/08/2012 22:12

Get the ears checked.

Naps - can you force them by taking him for a drive or pushchair walk after a run around and big lunch?

Bedtime - have a nice long calming routine. Keep calm, read loads of books, snuggle with milk then lights out at 6.30pm and sit with him until he sleeps. Do this for a week or so then you can work on leaving him to it.

It sounds like he's completely over-wound and over tired - and maybe not too well, either. I echo a dose of ibuprofen, and maybe a warm bath (keeping ears dry) or something else that will settle him.

Good Luck - get him checked out when you can

Thanks for all the replies. Im going to take him to docs I just feel something is wrong.

He would sleep in the car tho. Nurofen does seem to help aswell.

We always have lunch, tidy toys, change nappy and pj's on and same for b/time with stories.

I gave him ibuprofen last nite and he was sleeping. Within 20 mins.

Did he wake much baby?

babyrose · 26/08/2012 19:14

He woke up twice last night 12:30 and then at 4:45 and wouldn't go back to sleep.

He only slept an hr today at his grans but was put for his nap too late cos he keeps fighting his naps and b/time.

4.45am! You have my sympathy. Have a read of Waking Up too Early on askdrsears.com.

babyrose · 26/08/2012 19:19

My alarm goes off at 5:15 to get ready for work but its still not fun!

I Will have a read, thanks.

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/08/2012 19:21

5.15 is harsh, mine goes off at 6am and that can be tortuous after night wakings.

babyrose · 26/08/2012 19:44

Its awfulSad it makes things alot worse cos im on my feet all day.
I used to think 7:30 was an early rise!!

OP posts:
babyrose · 27/08/2012 07:42

He slept all night til 5 this morning and he went back to sleep til 6:45. He was in bed and sleeping by 18:45 last night.

Still going to phone docs, his eyes are all puffy and he has been rubbing at his ear.

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/08/2012 08:25

Sounds like a much better night, and going to the docs is a good idea. Even if they say there is nothing wrong, at least then you will know it's not his ears keeping him awake Smile.

babyrose · 27/08/2012 13:51

Doc said one of his ears is pink and said that if he wasnt in pain to go back on wed to have another look to see if it was getting better or not.

Just tried to get him for a nap and he refused even tho he was rubbing his eyes clearly very tired.Confused

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/08/2012 20:53

How did the GP know he wasn't in pain baby?

babyrose · 27/08/2012 21:52

He hasnt said his ears are sore, we think his face looks puffy but that could be lack of sleep.
He refused another nap today at 1 but fell asleep on the floor for 10 mins!!

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/08/2012 07:00

Not surprised you fell asleep baby Smile. I think children, especially such young children, often have difficulty vocalising their pain to us. DS had just turned 7 when I missed his ear infection and only told us he was in pain when it finally dawned on me to ask Blush.

babyrose · 28/08/2012 07:25

Something is bothering him, he woke up screaming at 12 last night he said his nose was sore. His eyes looked puffy as if he was congested.

I feel like going to the hospital so he will be checked over thoroughly.

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/08/2012 18:37

Have you managed to get back to the GP?

babyrose · 28/08/2012 18:51

We have an app wed avo, he hasn't had a day nap in 2 days.

Im confused about whats going on, I dont know whether he is ill or teething, to soon for a big bed or dropping his nap.

OP posts:
babyrose · 29/08/2012 11:30

He fell asleep in the car today, its been 45 mins already and he was up early this morning so im glad he is getting a nap.
