Rolling in sleep

My DS has just moved into his cot in our room instead for his moses basket, he has been rolling over onto his tummy/side and sleeping during the night. We have been up to now moving him back onto his back for fear os suffocation. Within the last month he discovered how to roll onto his tummy but only within the last week or so has he discovered how to roll back onto his back, he can not do this all the time though. Are we ok to leave him on his tummy/side during the night, or should we roll him back over? He is not a good sleeper anyway but losing more sleep worrying he will suffocate in his sleep.

how old is your ds.
When ds started doing this I was worried like you but HV told me that as soon as they can roll then they are to sleep on front. ds now only sleeps on his side or front

how old is he? Normally once they can roll over themselves they are old enough to sleep how they please.

he is only five months old thats why a little worried is this about the right age ?

If they can roll, leave them rolled over. It's fine.

The cot death risk gets smaller, anyway, the older they are, past a month or two. And if he got too warm on his front or his side, he'd roll over again.

Both my boys slept on their stomachs, once they were old enough to roll over.

he'll be fine. My ds could roll over from very tiny and I used to worry about him, but your little one will be fine.

my dts sleep on their stomachs too, with their bottoms up in the air, like rabbits!
