Hi everyone, My 2half year old still wakes several times a night. He gets up and sits at his gate crying as soon as he sees me he gets up and climbs back into bed. I tuck him in and leave the room. I have tried leaving him to cry but can't stand it and it doesn't seem to work he just gets more and more upset. He also gets up at half5 everyday full of beans. Please can anyone give me some suggestions as it's killing me :(

He might be having bad dres and gets scared of the dark? He needs reassurance that you're there and he's not alone. Silly but toddlers are like that.
With our DS, we tell him we're coming back in a minute and do just that then tuck him in and stay a but (at bedtime). For night wakings we do the same or sleep in his room until he felt happier - he started sleeping through again now.

Early wakings - it's usually the light creeping under his door or the cold which wakes him so we try and tackle that.

Hi thanks, yeah I have tried all different things warmer pj's extra blankets less clothes. I've tried sitting with him, tired leaving him to cry, a night light you name it I've tried it and think he has only slept all night about 5times. it doesn't matter where we are home, holiday at grandparents. He sits at his gate crying the minute he sees me he stops and gets back into bed!
