Side-sleeping

DD is now 10 days old. It has become apparent that she particularly likes lying on her side when asleep. She wakes much more quickly when laid to slept on her back and also displays more discomfort associated with wind. I know that side-sleeping is considered 'less safe' thsn back-sleeping but has anyone continued with allowing their babies to do this? Also did they used any form of positioner to prevent front-sleeping?

I should also mention that she also co-sleeps at times and this is where the side-sleeping started as she would feed lying down then go to sleep.

I do it with LO - when he was very small, I would wedge him with his back against the side of the bassinet and a rolled up cellular blanket. I made sure the blanket never went above nipple height so there was no danger of suffocation.

Now at almost 4 months (4 months??? When did that happen??) he still sleeps better on his side. I normally put him down on his side, and when I go to check, he's rolled onto his back.

Another side sleeper here. When DD hit 12 weeks though she started rolling onto her back during her sleep, but still wouldn't settle unless on her side. Due to reflux in her case.

DD now 11 weeks old always sleeps on side. I put rolled up cellular blanket either side of her to stop her rolling, and sometimes find her on her back but rarely. My problem now is she is being swaddled but needs to move into sleeping bag I think - but they all have side zips - surely these will hurt - any ideas what to do or what to buy?

My DD is a side sleeper and has never settled on her back, although now at almost 6 months is turning into a tummy sleeper.

Our Grobags have front zips so they should work?
