yes it does, the younger the baby the quicker it works IME.

You do not leave your baby to get upset/distressed the focus is much more about teaching your baby that it's okay not to be cuddled/rocked/fed to go to sleep.

It didn't work for us. Just wound my DS up so he couldn't get to sleep. Worked better when he was just laid in hit cot and we laid next to him until he dropped off until he got used to going to sleep on his own.
Good luck!

ds 6 months, settled to near sleep on me I put him in his cot. He screams, ,I leave him for one minute (is this right?) pick him up he settles, repeat twice more, forth time I pick him up he carried on screaming so he is back on the boob.

So I shouldn't have let him cry for the minute.

I would be happy to lie next to him till he fell asleep but he won't, he wants to be.img the boob or sometimes won't settle on the boob and I have to walk round with him. I know he is young but I am fed up and want my evenings back. He screams with dh and often wakes frequently shortly after I get him to sleep and will not settle for dh

How does he go to sleep during the day?

I started it with day time naps initially.
